Hello ,
I encourage you to read this thought-provoking article from Health IT Analytics titled Chatbots May Be Healthcare's Artificial Entry Point. The author cites a recent SpiceWorks survey highlighting the following:
- By 2019, 40% of large businesses will integrate voice assistants like Cortana, Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant into workflows. About 1/4 of smaller and mid-size companies plan the same.
- More than 75% think AI will help to automate routine tasks, yet only 20% feel prepared to hand this shift.
- Voice recognition is not new to healthcare. Voice is used for dictation – but chatbots and ambient computing devices offer new levels of interaction.
- Chatbots and virtual assistants are finding their way into homes and clinical environments -- as scribes, ordering assistants, and patient engagement aids.
According to Chatbot Report 2018: Global Trends and Analysis, the healthcare industry is second only to online retail in customer acceptance of chatbots.
Orbita is honored to work with major healthcare organizations like Amgen, Mayo Clinic, American Red Cross and others to drive voice and chatbot innovation.
We've seen a big uptick in interest for AI-driven web and mobile chatbots -- due, in part, to security concerns with commercial smart speakers like Amazon Echo and Google Home. Many are now realizing that voice and text-based chatbots (multi-model) delivered over web and mobile apps (multi-channel) can overcome privacy and security concerns of smart speakers.
Organizations would be wise to approach their voice strategy with both short and long-term realities in mind.
Recall the early days of the web and mobile development. How many high-cost, "firedrill" custom projects went quickly defunct? When evaluating options, consider a multi-modal, omni-channel voice experience management platform. Coincidentally, I happen to know a good one I recommend (wink!)
Sincerely,
Nathan Treloar
Orbita Co-founder & President
