December 2018

As 2018 comes to an end, we thank our many customers, partners, and colleagues who helped make this year incredibly successful for our organization. We hope we helped contribute to your success as well. Team Orbita looks forward to 2019 with a renewed focus on our mission: To transform lives through the power of voice and conversational AI.

Over the past 20 years, advances in digital technology have radically changed the world. Moving into 2019, we anticipate exponential increases in adoption of conversational interfaces. In healthcare, we've witnessed great strides in better understanding the true potential for voice to support the Institute of Healthcare Improvement's Triple Aim: enhancing the patient's experience of care, improving the health of populations, and reducing per capita costs.

While most of today's conversational interfaces are helping automate consumer and business processes, more and more organizations across the healthcare ecosystem are exploring opportunities for voice to enhance clinical care. Consider this from a recently published Forbes article titled Voice as the New Vital Sign:

The user experience of voice technology combined with artificial intelligence can offer a powerful tool for multiple stakeholders in healthcare. From patients at home, to clinicians at the bedside, that power — simple, easy, and cost effective — may be enough to allow voice to join pulse, temperature, blood pressure, and respiration as a key physiology sign with vital implications.

What's New in Orbita Voice?
Designing For Voice: The Power of Prototyping

Screen Shot 2018-12-27 at 9.56.38 PMWe're pleased to unveil the newest addition to Orbita Voice™. A first-of-its-kind tool, Orbita Prototype enables rapid prototyping of conversational user experiences without requiring coding — much like creating a wireframe for a web site or a sketch for a mobile app.

Why is this so valuable?
Orbita Chief Product Officer Bill Cava highlights a recent comment from blogger Jason Amunwa: “Voice UX represents the biggest challenge since the birth of the smartphone.”

According to Cava, voice UX designers face four main challenges:

  • Creation: Most voice designers create written scripts and circulate them for feedback. Typically, feedback is not provided until well into and after the development process, far after much work has already been done.

  • Testing: Designers have limited ways to test assumptions with end users. What will a user say in response to a prompt? Will the bot’s response make sense? Is a dialog too long?  Few options exist to facilitate meaningful testing of experiences at scale.
  • Measurement:  Voice UX designers can find it difficult to identify and measure areas of friction within the experience. They also lack quantifiable data to inform decision-making. What part of the experience falls short? Where are users tripped up?

  • Iteration: Product owners are limited in their ability to rapidly make adjustments to voice experiences, to test each iteration, and to measure of impact of their changes.

Orbita Prototype provides real-time benefits for all stakeholders involved in the crafting voice experiences. Whether a projects' goal is to increase  satisfaction, improve productivity, and/or decrease costs, Orbita Prototype improves your ability to create positive, engaging, and effective end-user experiences in a highly effective and efficient way.

Save time and improve accuracy with Orbita Prototype.
